The Tsinghua-INSEAD Executive MBA course structure is designed to help you transition from your current specialization-dependent management role to a more organisation-wide approach to problem solving. The programme is set up to expand on your experience with business fundamentals, as well as delve into your areas of interest with a combination of formal lessons and practical simulations. A final thesis project will allow you to weave together all the elements you have learned, accounting for 20% of your final grade.
Focusing on business fundamentals, we offer 12 core courses during the first seven modules. Designed to review, revive, and grow your functional tool kit, we validate business theory through discussion of real-world business application. Each core course will culminate with an exam to test your understanding of the concepts and your ability to implement these in problem solving and decision-making.
Two weeks of elective courses offers the opportunity for greater exploration into disciplines of interest. We encourage you to step outside your comfort zone, taking the opportunity to explore areas where you have had less exposure. Based in Fontainebleau, France, this module unites the TIEMBA cohort with INSEAD's Global Executive MBA, allowing for increased business and cultural exploration and greater networks. To further enhance professional development, TIEMBA graduates may return after graduation to complete additional electives.
The Key Management Challenges (KMCs)
At Tsinghua and INSEAD, we recognise that managers in the real world must cope with complex situations as they occur, under conditions of uncertainty, with incomplete information. "Key Management Challenges" deal with broader multidisciplinary issues; those that affect the entire corporation. Reflecting reality, KMCs can seldom be systematically and rigorously solved. Bridging together the core courses, we discuss real business problems that affect the entire business, where experience and judgment are as useful as sophisticated business models.
Leadership Development Programme
Striking a balance between reflection and action, today's leaders must help their organisations adapt to the unknown. Leaders must be flexible, aware of context and able to adjust their leadership style to the situation. Just as importantly, they must know themselves and understand their impact on others.
Provided in collaboration with faculty and coaches from INSEAD's Global Leadership Centre, the Leadership Development Programme (LDP) takes the form of a learning group whose diverse members will support, encourage and challenge each other throughout the programme. The LDP will help you define ways to increase your effectiveness by assisting you to develop your own unique and authentic leadership style.
